EARLY YEARS

Caterina’s career started on 1997 but, when she was younger she studied classic subjects at the high school in Cagliari.

After the school she tried to enter Medicine but she did not pass the entrance exam. Anyway this event wasn’t so tragic in Caterina’s life because she knew what was her dream, not to study medicine or science at the University, but to become an actress.

Caterina started her career by taking part at the ‘Miss Italy Competition’ (an Italian competition that takes place every year, and where the most beautiful girl of the Nation is elected). She reached the fourth place in the 1996 Edition.

After this success Caterina, thanks to a fashion agency, began working on televion by modelling in various spots for Mastercard, Swatch, Mercedes Benz, and Nescafe. Although she became famous, this wasn’t her dream. She didn’t want to spend all her life making spots for TV, so she started to study acting at the Scuola di Cinema e Teatro di Francesca de Sapio (Italy) from 1999 to 2000.

It’s in the 1999 that Caterina made her acting debut in a stage production of “Richard III”. After two years she began her career in Television, with the quiz-show ‘Passaparola’ (where she was one of the assistants of the presenter). In the same year Caterina start working on some TV mini-series, like “Don Matteo”, “Le Ragazze di Miss Italia” or “Il Giovane Casanova”.

In 2000 she moved to France, where she hoped to find what she was looking for. Anyhow she always came back to Italy to take part at some short stage appearances. It’s the 2002 the most important year of her early career, infact it is in this year that she is casted in the Luis Sepulveda’s movie, “Nowhere”.

A NEW WORLD

After this great opportunity Caterina receives other roles, like the role of the main character in the short-movie by Alberto Pucci, entitled “Il Grafologo”.

And she continues making movies in Italy, German but in particular in France, where in the 2004 she took part to the comedy “L’Enquête Corse”, where she made her breakthrough performance. Infact, the actress was so fascinating that she became more famous in France than in Italy.

She also played a lot of other Franch movies during 2004 and 2005, such as “Des jours et des nuits”, “L’Amour aux trousses” and “Les Bronzés 3: amis pour la vie”, while in the 2006 she took part to the Spanish TV-series “Vientos de Agua”, by playing the role of Sophie.

INTERNATIONAL CATERINA

In the same year Caterina played one of the most important roles of her life, I am talking about Solange, the wife of the villain Dimitrios in the 2006 adaptation of the James Bond movie “Casino Royale”, which launched her internation career.

Casino Royale made her face known all over the world. Infact from 2006 she received a lot of offers.

She loved to work on this movie, and to see her name next to other International Stars, such as Eva Green or Daniel Criag (who is according to Caterina the sexiest Bond yet).
